Every new account starts protected. For the first 3 days after sign-up, no other lord can attack you — time to build up your economy, train your first troops and learn the map without fear.
Protection belongs to the account and counts from sign-up: a village founded later doesn't get a fresh timer. The time left is shown under More → System, next to your account details.
What protection blocks
It works both ways. While you are protected:
- No player can attack, scout or besiege your villages — not even the corrupted villages the server controls.
- You can't attack, scout or besiege other players either.
- Direct resource sends and troop reinforcements between you and other lords are blocked, in both directions.
- The neutral warbands that sometimes raid player villages leave you alone too.
What stays allowed
- Attacking the map's neutral targets (camps, dens, forts and the like). That's how you grow during this period — see Getting started.
- Building, training, recruiting heroes and following the Journey.
- Joining a guild and chatting.
- Protection doesn't block the Square, but the Square needs an account at least 3 days old — compare that with the protection's 3 days: it usually only opens near the end of it. It also needs Warehouse level 3 and 5 as the sum of building levels (Square and Auction House).
- Moving troops and resources between your own villages.
When it ends
- When the timer runs out, on its own.
- Earlier, if you want: the Abandon protection and go to war button, under More → System, ends protection immediately. You can attack other lords — and they can attack you. There's no going back.
Attacking neutral targets doesn't end protection, and trying to attack a player doesn't either: the attack is simply refused while protection lasts.
Get ready for the end
When protection drops, your village is truly on the map. Before that:
- Raise your Wall: each level adds +4% defense to the troops guarding the village.
- Keep a garrison at home. A whole army out marching leaves the village empty.
- Post a defender hero in the village. Without a hero on guard, the wall and the garrison fight alone.
- Spend before you stockpile. A successful raid takes part of what's in your Warehouse; resources turned into buildings or troops can't be looted.
Peace Pact
Once novice protection is over, the shield you can switch on whenever you want is the Peace Pact. It's bought in charges at the Royal Merchant's Shop and activated under More → System. Each activation protects your whole account for a fixed time, and there's a limit on activations per week — both are shown on the Pact screen. The rules are the same as novice protection: while the Pact is active you can't attack players either, and attacks already on the way still land. You can cancel it early, but the charge you used doesn't come back. More in Purchases and cash.
