Gem · Offensive

Minimum Forge: from this level on the effect comes from the gem chest, PvE drops and cutting. Above the active limit the strongest gems count; the rest stay socketed with no effect.

What it does

Lets the hero ignore part of the opponent’s defense.

Where it works

Battle is every march with a hero (PvE, PvP and oases), resolved at once by the strength of both sides. Duels are blow by blow.

ModeEffect
BattleIgnores part of the target’s defense, in proportion to the hero’s share of the march’s attack.
GvG duelLowers the opponent’s defense before every blow.
ColossusNo effect: the Colossus has no defense.

Value per tier

Value of each attribute on the gem. On a 2-attribute gem each one is worth less than alone; it appears from Tier III (from the gem chest, with the Forge at level 8) and only fits a Prismatic socket.

Tier III+3%+1.2%
Tier IV+5.5%+2.2%

Caps

The gem cap applies to the sum of the hero’s active gems; past the start of diminishing returns, each point is worth less. The same attribute from equipment comes on top of that cap and only stops at the battle cap.
