Warehouse and storage

Guide · Economy

The Warehouse sets the village's maximum storage. The cap applies to each resource separately: at the same Warehouse level, you can have wood, stone, iron and gold full at the same time, each up to the limit. The cap for each level is on the Warehouse page.

Each village has its own Warehouse and its own stock. Coins (bronze, silver, essence, cash) don't take up Warehouse space: they belong to your account.

When it's full

A resource at the cap stops growing. Its production goes to waste while it stays full, and the other three keep going as usual.

Each way of receiving resources handles the cap differently:

SourceWhat happens at the cap
Extractor productionStops at the limit
Supply caravan between your villagesWhat fits goes in; the surplus returns to the origin with the caravans
Caravan from the SquareThe excess is lost, and the notice says how much
Merchant's ExchangeRefuses the trade before charging
Plunder and rewardsLand in full, even above the cap

Resources above the cap are never cut: they stay in your stock. Only that resource's production stops adding up until the stock drops below the limit again.

What protects your stock

There's no hiding place: everything in the Warehouse can be plundered, including resources locked in a Square offer. What limits the loss:

  • a single attack takes up to 85% of each resource in your stock, only if the attacker wins, and only what their troops can carry;
  • your guild's Deep Vault track in the Order Tree, the Stone Vaults in the Technology Trunk and some Omens cards lower that share (other cards raise it, as the price of what they offer);
  • while novice protection or a Peace Pact is active, other players can't attack you (the Pact is sold by the Merchant, see Merchant and Exchange);
  • the Wall and the troops at home can make the attack fail, and a defeated attack takes no resources at all.

Coins are never stolen: a raid by another player only takes Warehouse resources.

The best economic defense is spending. Idle stock is a target: before going offline, fill your construction and training queues.

When to upgrade the Warehouse

  • When a building costs more than fits. If the cost of a resource is above the cap, production will never gather enough. The most expensive buildings get there early: compare the cost on the building's page with the storage on the Warehouse page.
  • When a resource lives at the cap. If you keep coming back to something full, hours of production went to waste.
  • To open trading. The Square and the Merchant's Exchange open at Warehouse level 3 (see Square and Auction House).
  • To expand. Founding new villages requires a minimum Warehouse level in the origin village, shown on its page under "Founding villages" (see Founding new villages).
