The map is full of neutral targets you can attack without facing another player. Early in the game they are your main source of coins, hero XP and equipment.
Kinds of target
- Camps, dens and towers: the entry-level targets, at low difficulty. Near where every account spawns there are Bands of Fugitives, made for your first battle.
- Dungeons: range from low to maximum difficulty and have a better chance of items and gems.
- Forts: medium and high difficulty targets.
- Other lords' villages: neutral villages with an owner and a race. Near the center of the map they are weak, and they get stronger toward the edge.
The same ladder of targets repeats across the whole map, so the full progression is close to home wherever you spawned.
Difficulty and garrison
Each target shows its difficulty, from 1 to 10, and the state of its garrison, but not what it is made of. To see who is defending, send scouts: against a neutral target scouting is always complete and nobody is lost. The garrison mixes infantry, cavalry and archers, so the triangle applies here too (Combat and the triangle). Neutral targets have no race, no Wall and no home advantage.
Rewards
When you win, you can bring back:
- Resources (wood, stone, iron and gold), limited by the cargo of the surviving troops and the hero;
- Coins: bronze, silver and essence, which don't depend on cargo;
- XP for the hero who came along;
- Drops: equipment and gems, with rarity that follows the difficulty, plus shards and relics from the Scorpion Set and, in dungeons and forts, Omens decks. For Technology, the Ancient Folio only drops from camps, towers, dungeons and forts, from difficulty 3, and the War Codex from dungeons and forts of difficulty 8–10.
The attack panel shows the available plunder and the drop chances before you march. A defeat yields no plunder.
Shared targets and regeneration
Targets belong to the world, not to you. If another player got there first, you find a depleted garrison and whatever plunder is left, because whoever arrives first takes as much as their cargo allows. Garrison and plunder recover on their own: camps, dens, towers, dungeons and forts go from zero to full in 12 hours. Other lords' villages have a pace of their own. No target ever disappears from the map.
Weekly resource cap
Across all your villages, PvE yields at most 3,000,000,000 resources per week, with wood, stone, iron and gold added together. Once you hit the cap:
- targets keep giving coins, XP, items, gems and everything else, and only resources stop;
- the attack panel shows how much is left, and the battle report tells you when the limit was reached;
- the counter resets every Monday at 00:00, Brasília time.
Plunder from other players doesn't count toward this cap (Attacking players).
Tips
- Bring spare cargo: whatever doesn't fit stays at the target for whoever comes next.
- Send your hero along: without one there is no hero XP, and the hero's cargo counts too.
- Save the targets you hit often to a list under Targets to get back to them in two taps.
