# Merchant and Exchange

> What the Merchant's Shop sells, how the showcase rotates and how to trade resources and coins with him by paying cash.

The **Royal Merchant** is the realm's trader, and you'll find him in two places: in the **Shop**, where he sells, and in the **Market** window, where he trades resources and coins with you.

He buys, too. Equipment you sell turns into bronze and silver, and if your backpack is full when an item drops in battle, the Merchant takes the piece on the spot, at its sale price, instead of it being lost.

# The Shop

The Shop is split into sections:

- **Consumables**: potions to heal your hero. The Common Potion is paid in silver and has a daily use limit; the Life Potion is paid in cash and heals more. Both go to your backpack, and you use them whenever you like.
- **Equipment**: three items, one common, one uncommon and one rare, that change every 4 hours, plus two epic items of the week. What the showcase shows is exactly what you get, with the attributes already rolled.
- **Chests**: one chest per category (Weapons, Armor, Jewelry and Mount), paid in cash. Each one always holds an epic or legendary item of that category, with a 2% chance of being legendary.
- **Peace Pact**: protection charges paid in cash. An activated charge stops other players from attacking you for a while, and you can't attack players while it lasts either. Attacks already on their way aren't cancelled, and there's a limit on activations per week.
- **Cash**: cash packs bought with real money.

Each rotation item and each chest can be bought once per rotation, and each epic of the week once per week; potions have a larger stock. The showcase rotates in real time, regardless of the server speed.

# The resource Exchange

In the Market window, the **Exchange** tab swaps resources from your village for other resources, instantly, with no other player involved. You pick what you hand over and what you want back, and you can split what you receive across several resources.

- The Merchant keeps 15% of the value as a fee and charges 50 cash per trade, whatever its size.
- The math is done in value, not quantity, using the same scale as the Square: a unit of a resource that's slower to produce is worth more.
- The result has to fit in your Warehouse. If it doesn't, the Exchange refuses before charging, and the screen tells you how much fits. Trades that are too small are refused as well.
- It opens at Warehouse level 3, the same as the Square.
- Exchanged resources can still be plundered: the Exchange protects nothing.

Because of the fee, the Exchange yields less than a fair trade on the Square. It's worth it for speed, when you're short on a resource for a building or a training order right now (see [Square and Auction House](https://jds-game.com.br/portal/wiki/guia/praca-e-leilao?lang=en)).

# The coin Exchange

The **Coins** tab swaps bronze for silver and silver for bronze. There's a base ratio between the two, a fee in both directions and a fixed cash cost per trade; it all shows on screen before you confirm. Unlike the resource Exchange, it doesn't depend on the Warehouse, because coins belong to your account, not to a village.

Each Market tab can be open or closed on this server. When it's closed, it simply doesn't show up.
