# Equipment and the Forge

> The hero's twelve slots, rarities, how each piece's stats add up, upgrades, tiering up, the Anvil and selling to the Merchant.

Your hero wears **twelve pieces**, one per slot: Main Weapon, Off-hand, Helm, Chest, Right Glove, Left Glove, Boots, Belt, Necklace, Ring, Cloak and Mount. Each slot has its own models, such as the [Common Sword](https://jds-game.com.br/portal/wiki/equipamentos/arma-primaria-generica?lang=en), the [Wolf Helm](https://jds-game.com.br/portal/wiki/equipamentos/elmo-lobo?lang=en) or the [Scorpion Ring](https://jds-game.com.br/portal/wiki/equipamentos/anel-escorpiao?lang=en), and each one's page shows the stats it can roll.

You swap pieces in the **Armory** (under **Army**) or on the hero screen. A marching hero takes their gear along and can only change it after coming back.

# Rarities

From most common to rarest: **Common**, **Uncommon**, **Rare**, **Epic** and **Legendary**. Higher rarity brings better stat ranges, and the piece is born with more gem sockets ([Gems](https://jds-game.com.br/portal/wiki/guia/gemas?lang=en)).

# How stats add up

A piece's attack, defense and HP are worth the **higher** of two numbers:

- a **percentage of the hero's base stats**, already including their level;
- a **fixed floor**, which depends on the piece's rarity and on how good the roll was.

In practice, a rare piece already helps a weak hero, because the floor guarantees its value, and it keeps growing on a strong hero once the percentage passes the floor. The breakdown of each stat on the hero screen shows which of the two is in effect.

The other stats (crit chance, dodge, march speed, cargo, crit damage, penetration, lifesteal, block and damage reduction) add up directly.

# Upgrades (+1, +2…)

Each upgrade raises **every line** on the piece by **+8%**, compounding, and the floor rises with it. The cost includes essence, grows with each level and shows on the **Upgrade** button. Each Forge level gives an essence discount; the table is on the [Forge](https://jds-game.com.br/portal/wiki/construcoes/forja?lang=en) page.

Up to **+7**, any account upgrades freely. From there on, the next **+N** has to fit under your **Lord Level** cap: **+8** needs Lord Level 18, and the maximum, **+10**, needs 23. When the cap blocks you, the button shows **Requires Lord Level** with the level you need. An item already above the cap stays as it is: the rule only applies to the next upgrade.

## Tiering up

Every **5** upgrade levels, a piece can **tier up**: it becomes the next rarity for an essence cost. It keeps its upgrade level and the lines it already had, and its floor becomes the new rarity's floor. The **gem sockets don't change**: the piece keeps the ones it had, and tiering up opens no new socket. What changes is the floor and the Anvil's cap on stat slots. The window is exact: a piece can only tier up while it sits at an upgrade level that is a multiple of that number; if you upgrade it to the next level without tiering up, the next chance comes at the next multiple. The **Tier up** button only appears when the server allows it, and Legendary is the top.

# The Anvil

The **Anvil** rerolls a piece's stat lines. Bring the piece to it from the Armory or the hero screen.

- There are two grades: **Common Reforge** (silver, bronze and essence) and **Arcane Reforge** (essence and cash). The Arcane grade doesn't raise the top of the range: it pulls the average up and nearly rules out a bad roll.
- You can **lock** the lines you want to keep. Each lock makes the reforge more expensive.
- The result stays **pending**: you compare it with the current piece and choose to accept it or keep what you have. The cost isn't refunded.
- You can **open new stat slots** for essence, and each new slot comes with a rolled line. Each rarity has a slot ceiling.
- The screen shows the **pool** of stats the piece can have, with their value ranges. Some only come from reforging, and high-rarity pieces can gain a gem-type stat.

Each operation needs a minimum Forge level, and the Anvil tells you which. While a reforge is pending, the piece can't be upgraded, sold or tiered up.

# Selling

The **Merchant** buys pieces for bronze, plus silver for the higher rarities. Upgraded pieces are worth more. Equipped pieces can't be sold, and any socketed gems go back to your vault, free. Bulk selling by rarity skips equipped pieces and pieces with gems.

Your backpack has a limit (equipped pieces don't take up space in it). When it's full, new drops are sold automatically and you can't open chests, so sell what you don't use.
